Acceptable Use Policy

Lawful use

ForceSP servers may be used for lawful purposes only. Sending, storing or distributing any information or material in violation of applicable law is prohibited. This includes copyrighted material, trademarks, trade secrets and other intellectual property used without authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, an illegal threat, or in breach of export control laws.

Examples of unacceptable content: pirated software, hacking programs or archives, pyramid or ponzi sites, warez sites, scam networks, and sharing credit card, bank or PayPal details. If we find such content, the account is terminated without refund and you may face civil or criminal penalties.

Adult content

Adult-oriented sites are allowed only on web hosting servers, never on shell or IRC servers. Sites that promote illegal activity or content that may harm our servers or any other server on the internet are not allowed. Child pornography is strictly prohibited.

Security

Violating system or network security is prohibited and may lead to criminal and civil liability. Examples: unauthorized access, probing or scanning; interfering with service to any user, host or network (mail bombing, flooding, deliberate overload, broadcast attacks); forging TCP/IP packet headers or email headers.

Spam

We have a zero tolerance policy on unsolicited email, bulk email and spam. “Safe lists” and “double opt-in” are treated as spam. Sending spam from or through a ForceSP server is strictly prohibited. Violators face immediate suspension or termination and a minimum fine of $1000.

IRC services (PsyBNC, ZNC, Eggdrop, Unix Shell, IRCD Shell)

IRC is allowed only on our IRC and shell servers, never on web hosting servers.

One IRC connection equals one background process (non-IRCD process).

Ident spoofing is not allowed.

Bouncer ports (PsyBNC or any other bouncer) must be between 1500 and 6000. Eggdrop ports must be between 15000 and 55000.

Mech and Emech are not allowed, and flooding with any service provided by ForceSP is not allowed.

Do not run more services than your package allows, and do not use IP addresses or hostnames that are not public without written permission.

HTTP and SOCKS proxies are not allowed on IRC, Unix or IRCD shells. Contact sales for a special package.

Inviting or spamming on IRC is not tolerated. Breaking the rules of any IRC network through our servers counts as abuse.

IRCD servers must not be linked to IRC networks that promote illegal content.

Abusive language toward ForceSP staff or in our support channel results in immediate termination without refund.

Web hosting

No IRC bots, IRC daemons or software that connects to an IRC network, and no stand-alone unattended server-side processes. No file upload sites, warez, pirated software, hate sites, hacking archives, proxy scripts or anonymizers, and no gaming servers.

Do not use 25% or more of system resources for longer than 90 seconds, and do not run interactive real-time chat applications that need server resources. Files uploaded to attempt root access are logged and may lead to loss of hosting with no refund.

Server resources

A site or process that uses a high amount of server resources (CPU, memory, network) can be asked to pay additional fees, reduce its usage to an acceptable level, or upgrade to a Dedicated Server plan. ForceSP decides what counts as high usage. An account that harms server performance or network integrity may be shut down without notice.

Radio hosting

You are responsible for having the rights and licenses needed for the content you broadcast.

Enforcement

Failure to follow this policy is grounds for deactivation. We may restrict access while we investigate, suspend or terminate the account, and pursue other remedies. Violations that are criminal offences are reported to the authorities.
